Social Responsibility
Built For Good is our social responsibility promise. We collaborate with community partners to create opportunities, and we share our success by giving back. From corporate giving to volunteering, everyone at Beedie cares for the communities where we work and live.
Beedie Luminaries
Beedie Luminaries is Ryan Beedie’s latest and biggest philanthropic endeavour and a major step in fulfilling his personal commitment of giving back and Beedie’s philosophy “Built for Good”. It is a social-profit enterprise designed to help remove barriers to education for students who face financial adversity, and to support their long-term success.
Beedie Foundation
An essential function of our business is working to enhance the well-being of those who live and work in the communities we develop. Everything we do helps others.
We promote the welfare of communities through contributions of funds, time and initiatives. Along with developing important projects that build community, we also have The Beedie Foundation, which contributes to non-profit organizations aligned with our values. Beneficiaries include organizations supporting health, education and safety-based projects, both locally and around the world. We help communities thrive.

Beedie Cares
Beedie Cares is a companywide, employee-driven volunteer program with a mandate to support children, seniors and families in our communities.
Beedie employees support local non-profit organizations that strengthen the communities where we work, play and live. Every year we collectively select four to six organizations to work with that aligns with our ‘Small Dollar, Big Impact’ mandate to help children, seniors and families. We offer support through fundraising initiatives to donating time and targeted giving.
Vancouver Sun’s
Adopt-A-School
After adopting the Douglas Road Elementary School, we raised $120,000 to fund and maintain the school’s Breakfast Program for five years.
CKNW Kids’ Fund
Our team will volunteer at this year’s CKNW Kids’ Fund Pledge Day, answering pledge phone calls across British Columbia.
Ronald McDonald House
Twice a year, our Beedie team hosts the families staying at Ronald McDonald House to a theme-inspired evening as part of the Family Dinner Program. From the activities and movie screening to the wonderful holiday feast, all is planned with the families in mind.
A Better Life Foundation
We are proud to team up with A Better Life Foundation in support of the Plenty of Plates initiative: a hands-on, 4-hour experience that gives those living in the Downtown Eastside an opportunity to sit down in a restaurant to enjoy a three-course nutritious meal.
Quest Food Exchange
Our employees volunteer time to repackage donated food items for Quest’s not-for-profit grocery markets.
Burnaby Neighbourhood House
We donated $10,000 and lunchtime assistance to the house’s seniors’ lunch program and provide volunteer support for their after-school program.
